5 Steps Facial Skin Care in the Cold Weather

How is your facial skin doing in this chilly weather? Is it as good as in summer? Or does it appear redness? Or does it feel itchy or tight? The following are some basic skin care products that help you maintain the youthful and radiant glow on your face even in this dull cold weather.

In the cold, the dry air sucks the moisture from your skin, which is damaging to the complexion. A very important task for you to keep good skin in the cold is to lock the moisture in your skin. You may think we use moisturizer in winter just the same you do it in summer. However, you may need to use different moisturizers in winter. Find moisturizer that is oil-based, instead of water-based, for your face in winter and early spring. Oil will create a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture. However, be careful for choosing your oils because not all oils are appropriate for the face. Look for oils like avocado oil, seaberry oil or almond oil. Avoid shea oil or butter because it can clog facial pores.

Step 1: Cleanser

It is a good idea to use different cleansers in the summer and winter just because as moisture in the air changes, the need of your facial skin changes too. In summer, humidity and heat may increase oil production on your face so a cleanser with more foaming is needed to remove excess oil. On the other hand, in winter, as the dry air strip the moisture from the skin, skin is dryer so that mild cleansers are more appropriate.

This product has gorgeous scent of orange and olive oil. Sunflower glycerides melt make-up and grime, leaving no post-clean tightness.

Hint: When washing your face, it is also important to remember that hot water dries out your skin. Use lukewarm temperature water instead.

Step 2: Toner

It is extremely important to moisture your skin immediately after washing to keep and block the moisture from being stripped by the dry air. One of the most important skin care products to have on hand in the chilly months is toner. Not only does toner remove residue that may have been left behind by cleanser, but it is the first step in moisturizing your skin. Apply the right toner will provide the best result for moisturizing skin and will help to close your pores with a protective barrier. However, avoid toners that contain alcohol as alcohol is drying to the skin and can strip vital oil from the skin. Instead, find a toner with no alcohol.

This product contains no alcohol and helps improve dry skin.

Hint: drop 2 or 3 drops of toner on a cotton pad or simply on your balm. And then pat the toner gently onto your face to help the skin absorb the toner.

Step 3: Facial Oil

As I said, oil plays a crucial role in moisturizing your face in the cold weather. And therefore, I usually apply 1 or 2 drops of facial oil onto the face after I put on the toner.

I love the Fresh skin care products because the brand uses natural ingredients which are better for skin to remain refresh and youthful. This product can quickly boost vital moisture in your skin.

Step 4: Facial Essence

I apply facial essence right before I use facial cream to make sure my skin has enough moisture and protection. I felt very fortunate to find the Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream on the other day and have been using it as an skin essence ever since. As it moisturizes my skin, it reduces the appearance of the fine lines on my face. Also, as a bonus, the smell of rose in this gel cream is awesome. I cannot verbally describe how sweet the smell is butI just love it!

Hint: As this product is more like a gel or lotion and it contains less oil than a facial cream, it can also be used in the summer time as a nice moisture.

Step 5: Facial Cream

You may suffer from redness on your face in winter. That is due to the loss of humidity and repeated traipsing from the overheated indoors back into the cold. In fact, many common skin problems, including sensitivity, extreme dryness, wrinkles and redness, are the end results of inflammation. Therefore, in winter, I would appreciate a facial cream that can help me avoid inflammation.

This face cream hydrates, calm skin and visibly reduces redness and sensitivity. In addition, the mega mushrooms used in this product have a long history of enhancing health, boosting resistance to stress, and promoting healthy longevity.

I hope the suggestion above help you have a better skin in this cold weather. In addition to the skin care products, I find a happy mood help the face glow. Happiness is just a natural makeup!
